The Irish Orienteering Championships 2009 (IOC09) will be hosted by WEGO and CNOC 1st - 3rd May 2009, northwest of the N15, proximal to Harvey's Point Hotel and due east of Lough Eske, Co Donegal.

Day One - Middle Distance Event Benson Hill (not Finner Sandhills);
Day Two - Classic Distance Event Tawnawully;
Day Three - Relay Event Croaghmeenere (even, symmetrically shaped mountain; Irish) (changed from Benson Hill).

All three areas are embargoed until IOC09.

The remaining granite pillars of the 300m long Lough Swilly Railway viaduct over the OwenCurrow river may be observed due SW of Barnesmore Gap. The old railway bed is moss grown and travels parallel to the N15.
